Disclaimer: If you are an adult blogger of color and if you feel some type of way or is offended, then I am talking to you!
I hate when people try play with my intelligence. Something went down today really got under my skin.
I visited a fellow blogger's site, who features mainstream gay porn. I have known of this blogger for quite a while. He along with several bloggers were my inspiration as to why I decided to convert The Luckey Star into an adult blog of color.
Long story short, the reason why he inspired me, because I notice that although this blogger is of color, he never feature black men often and if he do, they are the typical black men that you see in the mainstream porn industry.
It's the reason why I make a conscience effort feature ALL men of color on my site because there aren't many who do.
One day I decided to pay his blog a visit and notice his post about Noel, I commented saying:
I was going to ask if you were even into the black guys or cover the urban adult industry and you said a mouthful in your post. I agree with you. His is hot stuff! Can't wait to see more of him!
He commented back:
Everyone always wonders that. I mean I can kinda see why, but at the same time, It's mildly frustrating, especially when I try to feature all different kinds of guys on the blog.
Did you see the other post about him?
I said:
yea I did…It's just that I notice you only cover mostly white models and very few models of color. I don't mean to frustrate you as you have the right post whoever/whatever you want. I make a conscience effort to post men of color on my blog because I do notice that other bloggers that are mainstream do not cover them. Considering that you of color, I always wondered.
He never respond to that last comment. Instead he tweeted my initial comment to his followers on twitter with my twitter username attached…
When I called him out on it, he played it off as to say that he did so to get RT, Favs etc.
I found that kind of odd considering that I never tweeted him the comment or shared it on Facebook. It was a comment on his blog.
He then goes on the defensive accusing me of being offended and vowed to never mention me in his tweets every again.
I don't really care what he post on his blog. Everybody have their preferences and he is entitled to his preferences and his content on his blog! I asked the question because I wanted to understand him better as a blogger.
This is not the first incident we have had but this particular situation bothered me on in. For a long time now, he has always been very shitty and snippy with me. I never did anything or said anything about him up to this point. Sure I probably have made some enemies but I was always respectful of him even when he continues to treat me as if I am some type of peasant or something.
Today I finally reach the end of my rope with his attitude…
I try my best to be cordial and supportive of other adult bloggers of color but it is extremely hard to do so. I can count on one hand, how many bloggers in general that are genuine supporters and honorary starz of the site..
There is Jamari of InsideJamariFox, Zee Jai of Kaos-Theory and Rod 2.0! These kats have always been down with The Luckey Star and I have never had an issue with any of them. I can call on them for anything and we always help each other out and watch out for one another.
As for the rest of them….they can kick rocks and keep on smoking them!
In the beginning, whenever I reach out to the other bloggers, they shaded the hell out of me. When The Luckey Star became popular, they were acting very funny towards me. It's like they felt threaten or something.
My intentions is to be one of the best blogs out there, if not the BEST. But I want all of us to be the best and do what we do. We all offer something different and unique. What is for Luckey is for Luckey. You can shade me all you want but you can't stop what is suppose to be for me.
One thing I won't EVER do is to kiss one's ass. Fuck these Crab Barrel Mentality fuckers. Karma will deal with them in her own time. I don't care how popular I become, I don't mind helping those behind me because when that popularity fades, I want people to say that Luckey gave a damn and he might have been the biggest bitch but he didn't mind sharing his expertise and knowledge.
We need to stop this shit because no matter what we are still a minority in this industry. Those white boys might tolerate us but they still look at us as lesser than. There is a reason why you rarely see many black porn stars. It's not by accident.
So to all the bloggers who have helped me along the way, I thank you and appreciate what you have done for me.
As for the others…
