“Why Pay For Porn When I Can Get It For Free”

This photo has nothing to do with the post, I just thought it was so delicious and wanted an excuse to share…LOL

I got a comment on this post and I am not going to give it to ya verbatim because I don’t want this person to think I am singling him out.

Basically, he said that he didn’t feel like he should spend his hard earned money on porn because he is only here to bust a nut and move on. He doesn’t care about the models or studios and it’s free in these streets so why bother.

It struck a nerve in me to write this post because I think this is the kind of attitude the newer generation towards the porn business.

Now I am only in my mid 30s (although I look like I am in my early 20s thank you sweet baby white Jesus) and I remember the times back in the late 90s/early 00s when I used to have to jack off on 30 second video clips (Back then my “drug” of choice was Miami Boyz & Enrique Cruz). I was a college student with a part-time job so I didn’t have much funds to spend on porn nor did I understand the importance of supporting the business by purchasing their memberships/dvds. I just wanted to bust a nut and go on to class. We didn’t have Myvidster, Tumblr and Pornhub. I don’t think Xtube was around either. We had AOL and Yahoo Groups to rely on.

Eventually I was bold enough to go to the adult stores and buy dvds. Most DvDs were expensive unless you bought those old compilation videos out of the bargain bins. And then there were the Black Inches magazines.

Overtime I matured and eventually ventured into this business as an aspiring blogger. Since then I have worked behind the scenes on shoots, met and chilled with models and have developed relationships with people in the adult industry. I don’t think people understand how much it cost to shoot a production.

It’s said that there’s no such things as a free lunch, but there’s definitely such things as free porn. It’s all over the Internet, practically unavoidable. Why pay for bottled water when I can get it for free.

Believe it or not, people still pay for their porn. Some support cam sites such as Chaturbate which is cool because they want a personalized experience and a bit of a human connection. Others do pay for memeberships and some of the older kats are still frequenting the adult bookstores for their dvds. Some people just want to show their gratitude and support the sites and keep their favorite models working.

Just like music and movies, porn is a business and although it’s not like it was in the 90s or 70s, it’s still a million dollar business. Studios have to pay models and employees to keep it going. There is a reason why you don’t see models of quality in scenes anymore. It’s simply because they are not paid enough and studios don’t have the funds to pay for them. Why do you think music today is TRASH compared to what it wss like back in the good ol’ days? They have to constantly put out records that will grab our attention. It’s no different in porn.

Maybe you don’t see anything wrong with getting free shit off the internet, but let’s look at it from an angle of sustainability.

How can the industry continue to exist if no one is paying for its product? Countless studios had gone under, models are earning significantly less, and the whole model that had existed up until 2007 lay in a state of total ruin, all because people refuse to pay for the porn that they so obviously watch.

And what do they do? They bitch and complain about how shitty the scenes are and how busted the model looks.

It’s hard to see how the industry can continue to exist in 10 or 15 years time at this rate. It will, but it will be a scaled-back and hollowed-out version of its current self. Like the free lunch, free porn also comes at a price.
