Ask Luckey: A Response To “Long Story About Soft Porn Web-Series…”

The following letter is a response to this post.

Dear Luckey,

This is actually a response/question to a recent post “A Long Story About Soft Porn Web-Series…” I agree that a lot of the online content in terms of black LGBTQ web-series seems to be basically softcore porn. The writing is horrible so they have to mask bad writing with sex. But there is one person producing quality well written black LGBTQ content, and that person is Lamont Pierre of Arthousetv. Are you familiar with his work? The key to a good series is dynamic stories and characters the audience can connect with and emotional invest in, and this is the content that Pierre writes. Some of his series that stand out in my mind are Kaleidoscope (which is Thomas McKay, Sherrod Wills, Rahim Brazil’s best acting to this day imo), Miles & Cal, and Red Skin.

Sean

Fun Fact: Lamont Pierre worked as Oscar-nominated Director Lee Daniels assistant in the fall of 2008.
